A unique festival format which gather 70 institutions, art centers, galeries… through two courses combining hotel rooms and art spaces, design, architecture, music and literature places…. An unusual federation of people who like art to offer the public the best of video art in an intimate or funny way.
Pascal Neveux Director of Frac PACA is the “godfather” of this edition.
The Windsor Hotel reinvents the art hospitality to host the programming of prestigious museums from Seoul to Hobart, with a special focus on Argentina, the honored country (the Moca, Mona, Arario Museum, Muntref, Mudam … ). Well known institutions or specialized associations, regional and national are also present (CNAP, Maison Européenne de la photographie, la maison rouge, Fondation Ricard, Espace de l’art concret, NMNM…). Festivals (Loop, Bienalsur, In and Out) and art schools (Pavillon Bosio, Le Fresnoy, Central Saint Martins, Villa Arson). Each presents one or several artists of their choice (Steven Cohen, Dan Graham, Wim Wenders, Sylvie Blocher, Kapwani Kiwanga, Hand Op de Beeck…), about 50 artists in total.
Marseille Expo is hosted in Nice by The Grand Hotel Le Florence, nine structures are gathered around environment thema, as an echo to owners environmental commitment! Hotel Rivoli welcomes the Burrhus hotel, invested in contemporary art itself (“Supervues” in Vaison La Romaine).
OVNi offers the possibility to discover a still unknown medium in the privacy of a hotel room. Other places will play with the concept of the room as broadcasting space or production as The Mamac with Chantal Akerman, the Lascaris Palace with Corina RÜEGG, LOFT with Pierrick Sorin and la Conciergerie with Kristof Everart. Others prefer the carte blanche of “satellite” course, and propose several installations and projections in the city with Andy Guérif, Fontcuberta, Ayoung kim… and many others….
The MOVIMENTA expert forum offers 2 days of meetings and reflection entitled Plein_Ecran on 1 and 2 december in synergy with the festival.
OVNi is a collaborative project, a set of invitation where each brings his stone to the edifice. His playful size encourages visitors to discover or revisit the places of culture and unusual places open specially for the event, addressing to general and initiated public as well.
