The art-fair Camera Camera takes place on November 24th and 25th at Hotel Windsor

After a first edition in November 2017, under the mentoring of Sandra Hegedus, the contemporary-art and video-art fair ‘Camera Camera’ returns on 23rd-24th and 25th November 2018  at the Hôtel Windsor, organized by the association OVNi in Nice, France.

For the Camera Camera art-fair, OVNi association selects galleries for their positioning and programming engaged in contemporary-art and specifically in video-art. Each gallery is invited to exhibit in a room of the Windsor Hotel or in a common space such as the garden, the hall, the spa …

Since the first edition we decided to use the concept of ‘the room’ as a starting point for galleries to design a specific project. That project is meant to be conceived depending either on the very concept of ‘a hotel-room’, on the specific art-work exisiting in the chosen room, or in regards to the artist who designed the room.

Each gallery can then choose between two project-proposals:

Chambre obscure (in reference to ‘Camera Obscura’) is a proposal involving a large video-installation, an immersive ambient that transforms the room into a black box

Chambre claire (in reference to ‘Camera Lucida’) is a proposal based on the creation of an original and ambitious in-situ installation. In this installation, the familiar, domestic, semi-private and unusual world of the ‘hotel room’ is challenged or re-visited through the presentation of art-works of various mediums.

These rooms of the Windsor Hotel are metamorphosed during a whole weekend, for a offering a playful ‘parcours’ and encouraging exchanges between gallery owners, collectors, visitors and artists.

This fair will also grant the “Suspenses” prizes. Several winners will be rewarded by an elected jury chaired by Caroline Bourgeois. Along her side: Roxana Azimi (Journalist / Art Critic), Chiara Parisi (Exhibition Curator), Gilles Fuchs (President of the Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l’Art Français), Philippe and Karine Journo (Collectors), and Jean-Claude and Françoise Quemin (Collectors).  On top of that, Ben will reward his ‘Coup de Coeur’ to the artist of his choice.
